Project overview
Delivered on behalf of Unitywater, this project replaced ageing wastewater infrastructure to support growth across North Lakes, Narangba and Deception Bay. The works involved the replacement and upgrade of 330 metres of wastewater pipeline along Sundown Circuit, North Lakes.
A community first approach
Early in construction, residents became aware of the planned works, including trenching through private driveways, before formal resident communication had taken place, resulting in significant concern and pushback. Eastoli worked quickly alongside Unitywater’s engineering and stakeholder teams to review the construction method and identify a better path forward.
The result was an innovative trenchless installation technique, trenching between driveways rather than through them, that eliminated the need for driveway reinstatement altogether. Despite the added complexity, the project was completed on time with zero complaints during construction, and Eastoli went a step further, restoring every affected lawn and garden to a standard residents were genuinely happy with before sign-off.
